Well, I emailed Hummer about this....here is what I got for a reply:

Thank you for contacting HUMMER and for your interest in the HUMMER model! There are many factors that influence the production of a model line. Availability of materials and customer demand influences the rate of production as well as cost. HUMMER reserves the right to make changes at any time, without notice, in prices, colors, materials, equipment specifications, models and availability.
The HUMMER H2 does not offer a diesel engine and there are no plans at this time to add it to the portfolio. A standard already exists for the Duramax Diesel. The Duramax Diesel and Allison transmission do not fit in the engine compartment of the H2. The engine compartment of the H2 would need to be redesigned in order to accommodate the engine and radiator. However, the HUMMER H1 does offer a diesel engine. We are actively exploring innovative technologies that provide both authentic HUMMER performance and improved fuel economy. The HUMMER H2 features a Vortec 6000 High Output V8 and heavy-duty 4L65-E four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, offering the best-in-class power and performance! The Vortec 6000 pumps 325 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 365 lb.-ft of torque at 4000, capable of out-muscling and out-torquing H2's premium off-road competitors. A standard 4.10 axle ratio, combined with the transmission's deep first-gear ratio and transfer case low-range gear reduction, provides an excellent 33:1 crawl ratio for very slow, controlled, high-torque rock and obstacle climbing capability. The top speed of the H2 is 96 mph (miles per hour).

Let me first say that I am a huge fan of the Hummer line, and plan on buying a H2 SUT within 1 year. My question is probably a simple one...but one never knows. Are you planning to offer the SUT, or SUV (for that matter) with a Duramax Diesle engine? I would love to have that power, and that fuel range.
