DRL-Driving Lights

Just bought my H2 last Thursday and I am wanting to change the DRL's to driving lights, has anyone done this change? I had a friend say he heard of someone changing the bulb in the DRL's to a brighter one and then rewiring them so he could turn them on and off like driving lights. Any help on this would be appreciated.

I used the Piaa 610 HID lites. I built a bracket to mount them too.

You can't replace the DRL bulbs with higher wattage ones. It will melt the DRL housings quickly.

You can buy a new metal valance from SMA that has the PIAA driving lights in them.

Or you can use the kit from hummersolutions.com to replace the DRLS with Cibie Tango driving lights (the route I went). I am extremely happy with this setup, only I chose to do fogs instead of driving lights.

Thanks for the info, I have sent them an E-mail on the lights. This looks like the avenue to proceed with to get the look I am after.

Here is a link to a thread where I sort of explained the installation of the Cibies package from hummersolutions.

DRLs replaced with Cibie Tangos (http://elcova.com/eve/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=2826088551&f=6706011751&m=3346023455)
