Front Hood Safety Cable Broke!

I have one of the two cables that hold the hood from going over to far "Broke". It just of all things rusted out. It looks like the rubber hose that covers it holds water inside and has rusted it out.

Any one else with the same problem?

Yes I had the same problem. I purchased 2 new cables from Hummer parts dept. I think they were about $25 each. They are simple to replace. but do 1 at a time so hood cant drop. The new ones come without the rubber. I think it was the rubber that allowed trapped moisture to rust the cable.
