Folks,

For anyone thinking about a rack for the H2, I have a Gavin Wilderness rack, and spare tire mounting kit, from Moss Motors. I've removed the original hardware that came with the rack for locking the spare tire to the rack, because it was approx. 3.5" above the top of tire. I replaced it with a 1/2"dia. eye bolt (6" long), primed and painted to match the rack, that now sits below the top of the tire, and I can get the yellow beast back into my garage. The height to the weather stripping on the garage door opening is 7' 9.5", and the top of the tire is approx. 7'8". I have a homemade sticker inside on the driver's side of the windshield stating the minimum height clearance is 7'11" for drive-ins, car washes, etc. and it helps avoid that nasty tearing sounds as you run into something from above. Hope the info helps if anyone is interested in doing the same thing. :thumbs

the final pic is for all the tree huggers driving minivans and full size suv's!!
