I just signed up and have been thinking about buying an H2, will it fit in my 7 foot high garage door opening ? It seems like it will be very close. Anything else i need to check out during my shopping for my Hummer ?

Technically yes. I think the H2 tops out at around 81" high, give or take... but I would really not count on it being practical for gargaging. I also have 7ft garage doors and it might fit in but I'm talking just barely. One late night and your going to scratch your side. Noy worth it in my book...

Ask the dealer if you can test drive on to your house to check. I think GM is running that overnight test drive anyway... This is the only way to be sure...

wow where do i find out about this over night test ride. i have been saying it all along thats what they should do for qualified buyers. i was even thing about approaching the guy in my town who has one and asking him to park his in my driveway too see.

Just go to your dealer and tell him you want to take one overnight, i can't remember how long this program lasts though. I imagine it has some conditions to it.

I think you have to keep the vehicle in state and less than 100 miles in the 24hr period. No doubt you need to qualify financical or something. I'm guessing they only have a limited number of vehicles available under this program. No doubt every hummer dealer would not have one on the lot if anyone could take one overnight.

I know Audi ran a similar program back in the winter and there was limited number of vehicles and you pretty much had to take what they had and book in advance.

Interested in hearing from anyone who takes the General up on this.

My 7 foot garage is actually 82 1/2 inches. My H2 with air suspension fits WITH roof racks in place and has about 1 1/2 inches to spare. Width is close on one side but not a problem; length is not an issue - the H2 is actually short for a full size SUV.

I seen the H2 going down the road and fell in love with it. And the day I test drove it. . . .it was mine! BUT. . . .I didn't think about if it would fit in my garage or not and it doesn't. I have an older garage and my Xterra barely fits in it. But I don't care. But it is something you might want to check out before you purchase yours. Good luck and Go for it!
