Well, we took the plunge.

Took delivery of our Sunset Orange H2 today.

Adventure series with a few other add-ons.

Man, what a pleasure. I got used to it VERY quickly and think it will be a great daily driver.

Will post some pics soon....

Gee....does a billet lockable fuel tank door count? Already ordered one...

Starting small...working up to the blower mod :)

The fever starts small. :) A few minor appearance mods. Then a simple performance mod. Next thing you know you have a 750hp lifted beast!

Ok, so I've ordered the Hummer Step Plate for the rear receiver (like the idea of being able to easily get to the roof!).

Some of the other appearances (like the billetted aluminum gas cap mentioned above, or the billetted aluminum hood latches) catch my eye too, so they'll probably be on their way shortly.

But there is a lot of talk here about supercharging. If it really will get you a substantial mileage increase, it seems like a no brainer. What, however, are the downsides to supercharging the behemoth?

(and just for the record, with each mile I drive in my H2, the love the vehicle grows. What a machine!)

Getting increased gas mileage is not a reason to supercharge. To be honest the most that I have seen is maybe 1 mpg...and that could be partly due to wishful thinking! It is the increased performance that you want to supercharge....but then you always have your "foot in it" because it is so much more fun to drive and there goes the mileage again! You also have to run premium fuel when you add this mod. Remember that this thing is HEAVY and underpowered.;)

Ok, Bill. You've got me really curious now.

How does your supercharged H2 handle? Is it more vette like? Does supercharging reduce the loads you can haul, or, does it actually increase them?

(I admit, I'm new to this kind of stuff. I bought my H2 because I needed a vehicle to haul equipment, and it came down to the expedition, or the H2 and, you guessed it, the H2 won!)

If I supercharge the beast, what can I expect?

No it's not going to run like the Corvette but it does significantly increase the performance. Remember that this is a 6500lb. beast! With the Whipple it performs like it should have when it came from the factory in my opinion!
