I've seen a few posts that suggest 37's are the biggest you can go with stock suspension. There are conflicting stories however that if the air suspension fails you may rub up against the wells with 37's on and may not be able to drive it to a shop for service. Again I've seen stories that have gone both ways on this issue so I would double check with someone who knows for sure...

Hi,
The max tire size is 36", The 37" will rub if you ever do any off road driving. I just put 16.5" rims with 35x12.50 x 16.5 BFG all Terrian Radials. all I have to say is wow, truck looks cool . But don't do the 37" I tried and it's a problem.
Good Luck

I will get a picture posted friday. and I just spoke to a guy from Hummer and he said with the correct offset a 37" tire would work execpt in the most severe off road use. So if you don't feel like offroading put on the 37"s they look COOL

I'm not doing that serious of offroading that it would be a problem for me. Thanks for the info.

Not sure on how much you want to mod your H2,but you can get a 4" lift that will easily clear 37"s and will still allow you to offroad!!!I'm looking into a 9.5" lift and some huge 39.5" for when I get mine,as soon as I can sell the vette!!!!

Just for you information....you can have it lifted and still save the air suspension. The air suspension is in the rear and any larger size and concerns with rub effect the front for the most part. Tires that clear have to clear when the steering wheel is turned to the max in both directions clearing body trim, fenders, and suspenion components. They also have to clear when the tires is turned under suspension travel. This is rarely given attention and the results could be a vehicle with large tires that is what they call a " pavement pounder". This is because if it were to offroad either the tires would rub and clears when driving a smooth flat road where u-turns are never made. This being said I focus on the front which consists of IFS (independent front suspension). A couple of companies that offer lifts for the H2 are Rancho, Fabtech, and Full Throttle. I know that at least one make the lift for standard or air suspension. I used to work at Four Wheel Parts and have had many lifted trucks. They achieve the lift and maintain the air suspension by simply relocating the mounts for the shocks and air suspension components versus removing them. Results are a lift that is common to rear either by blocks, larger springs or coils that will use the same air components thaat are modified with drop brackets to maintain its function.

The only 9.5 lift for an H2 is the Full Throttle kit. Its nice but strongly don't recomend it. Full throttle has very limited Authorized dealers theat sell their products and that is the result that any problems that may arrise are harder to deal with. Furthermore, they do not warranty there products and have heard in many cases where parts broke and were not replaced or fixed either by the dealer or company. If you want to lift the H2 the right way but may costa little more is a solid axle conversion. Replace the independent front suspension (IFS) with a solid axle. You will spend a little more but it with be stronger, balanced, and better in all aspects. IFS lifts are not that great and they always create problems for a vehicle in many ways. Just a thought and take it for what it is worth to you. Take care
