My car just got towed back to the dealer. After a 100 mile freeway drive while exiting the freeway I found the car in 4 wheel drive high even though the buttons showed normal. The dealer removed the transfer case and found the spindle/solenoid that engages 4WD to be defective. Anyone heard of this problem?

Yes, I had a problem like that on mine. It had something to do with something in the transfer case not engaging properly. I can't remember the specific details, but it might have been a spindle/solenoid. Whatever it was, they replaced it/fixed it and I haven't had any problems since then.

How would you know if you are in 4wheel or 4wheel lock unless the lights say so?
