I've had some of the underbody coating flake off on my new H2. The local dealership has told me that the underbody coating material is not available anywhere in the states due to a hold up in importing from Canada GM due to some environmental concerns (HAZMAT?) Anybody else have a similar experience. Right now, the body shop has applied a temporary coating while they (I) wait.

Hi USA. We had the additional undercoat spray done on our new H2 (2 months ago) and haven't seen any indication of flaking. How long have you had your vehicle? It's hard to believe GM hasn't deemed this stuff tried and true - you'd think they'd have tested it well on their other SUV models?? Will keep an eye on ours and keep ya posted.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep checking with the dealer and pass along the reference part numbers
I was told by my dealer I could NOT get any undercoating/rust proofing/paint sealer, and that if I did it would void my warranty. Is this just B.S.? Sounds like some dealers offer it. If you did not have it done at a dealer, who do you recommend for this?

Just a few weeks ago, the dealership was able to complete the underbody repair. What ever material is applied to the frame at the factory, when the vehicle is delivered is what they repaired. Initially a temp coating was applied, and now the final undercoating has been applied. It was covered by warranty, so I can't imagine there would be a problem.
This was not an aftermarket product.
