Hey everyone,

For my first post here on H2fanatic I wanted to throw out a general question to the H2 owners. If you could change anything on your hummer what would it be and why? Now this is a general question so it includes both interior and exterior. Maybe you'd like to update the suspension or, maybe get a new steering wheel or, maybe you'd like new seats. Whatever it may be please state it here.

Thanks for your input,

Duramax Diesel. I know, I know, I received my canned, form letter response from GM to the same inquiry - not planned, cant do, blah, blah blah. Doesnt stop me from wanting it though....

Quality control !!!!! I just bought an 03 with 13 miles on odometer and it rattles. In the rear of course just like all previous posts on subject . Also could use 75 more HP.

My H2 rattles also but Im sure the dealer will fix. I would want my rear window to retract electronically or at least open separately from the entire hatch. But I still love the truck.

"I would want my rear window to retract electronically" :eek

Having owned 2 Bronco's with this fine feature, both of which stopped working and on my current where my dealer can't seem to figure out the problem but just replace parts, I vote NO :banghead
The "open separately" via manual control would be O.K. with me :thumbs

I do agree with the more horsepower idea - isn't there an old saying that "more horsepower corrupts, absolute horsepower corrupts absolutely" :reddevil

What would I want changed?

Less cheap plastic would be nice. Duramax diesel option would be great, as would an Allison transmission! A GPS system AND a 6 CD changer. The Escalade has one so I know that GM must have the technology. Less rattles, less rust, and did I mention less cheap plastic? A little more HP would be nice too!

I agree with the less plastic. I've had enough bad experiences with my ex-Chevy C1500 interior shattering.

I would like to see dash-mounted sunroof controls. My husband has a 2001 Acura Integra with the sunroof panel just to the left of the steering wheel on the dash. Much more convenient -- I would prefer not to have to take my eyes off the road to close the sunroof in case of rain.

WHY, OH WHY would anyone put controls to the LEFT of a steering wheel? That would make it extremely hazardous for a passenger to use the controls (obviously, Acura wasn't thinking on that one).

I wish more manufacturers would put power window controls in the center console (like Saab ... MB used to do this as well) ... also, power seat controls should NOT be restricted to no-man's land ... where you can't see the buttons.

On my 2004, everytime I hit a bump, brakes, or accellerate the damn Key chain rattles against the steering column and dash. More horsepower would be good. The Escalade has 325, why can't GM get at least that out of the H2?

The Escalade has 345 HP. As for the difference between the two ... obviously, the H2 is heavier ... and needs more low end torque. Night and day difference in what the engines do.

If anything, the H2 is screamin' for a Turbo-Diesel ... but that's not gonna happen any time soon!:banghead

I have a Duramax in my H2 and it made it the most enjoyable vehicle I have owned! It pulls well and hauls _ss! We can provide this conversion but it is not cheap! It takes alot of time on the wiring and mods to install. It looks like factory when finished. www.powerplayperformance.com :party

So where's the diesel? All I see is a blinged out H2 :confused1

I clicked on H2D ... saw lots of pics. Too much distraction and confusion for my tastes. All I wanted was a Turbo Diesel! Save the rest of the stuff for someone with an alter-ego! I would just like to know how the Duramax was squeezed into the engine compartment, as Hummer suggested that it was not possible, Can this be done without having to install the lift kits, etc?

If you would like pics of the H2D please e-mail me at cleargearz@aol.com I will reply with photos in a zip format. (high res) Thank you, Jeremy Manning. The website has not yet been updated. The orange H2 is not a diesel yet. It is a black H2.
