let me start by saying I am a jeep freek. I would like to challange any h-2 to a duel of offroad capabilities. I have a 03rubicon with a mild 3 inch lift and 33 inch tires. Oh ya I live in Washington.

Just about all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses - the owner just has to pick the right place and time that gives his vehicle an advantage.

Speed costs money, how fast would you like to go.

Climbing rocks costs money how big a rock do you want to climb.

Good luck in finding a challenger since a stock H2 is not designed to be a rock crawler nor a Baja runner IMHO :seeya

We welcome civilized debate and disagreement. We don't welcome H2 abuse in signature quotes. Especially from new members.

I had an 87 wrangler, in 1995, and I built it pretty nice, just seems like everything would always break...so that's why I built it. Wait...let me rephrase that....pretty much every stock part broke under normal use, so I ended up going aftermarket on about 90% of the Jeep. http://bikes.ruin.org/kewl/gifs/pissed.gif
I hope the new ones are better...but it turned me off of the jeep idea for a long time. To top it all off it was while I was in college, so I pretty much spent most of the time working on the damn thing myself, and rebuilding things myself, being that I was broke as a joke.

I had a 97 grand that had 10" of lift, it was a going mofo... 35's tires, 456 gears, arb air lockers front and rear.... man is was a mean bitch for a jeep. only problem it was always snaping axles and ring and pinions... Guess the Dana 30's and 35 could hold the 35's and steel wheels.

Long story made short, two totally different vehicles to do to totally different things.

I like what You said about having the truck for the job. I'm not a climber or much offroader. I build a 2005 Stealth Gray to take to shows and blow others doors of the line at the light or drag strip. Won My first show and in March getting ready to win my 2nd show. I Love the look of the H2 and it's Big Daddy heritage H1. It is something that not just everyone cares to own or drive but love to look at and get to ride in. My Magnacharger goes in during Jan 05. With all that is on now We will Dino it and shooting for High 500's HP and real juiced up torgue. If it does not get it far enough I will go Nitrous. I love fast and to pull up to a light in beside a rice rocket of which I have friends, It is so sweet for them to look at 7000lbs. and think it will not move and i wave at them in the mirror. I tell people if You spend the money on a car that weighed half this truck does that I have spent You probably could not drive it on the road as You would kill Yourself or worse someone else.

So Thanks You really did put it in perspective.

Next time just give him a freindly nudge our direction Troy :D

The H2 would do Ok against a rubi with a 3" lift and 33" tires, but that would be like an H2 with a 6" lift and 40" tires. Going stock versus modified is always a bad deal for a stock vehicle.

H2's can get it on though:

Thanks for the tour. A Rock Climbing H2? Seen it with my own eyes. Own one and did'nt ever realy believe it could do that. I use mine on beaches and sand dunes with the occasional hill. Not that i'm gonna go out and try it but it was fun watching what i thought was therory turn into reality. Ya know i had to save that one. Music was'nt bad either. An i'll cya's :seeya

howdy guys......this is another jeeper here...just wanted to let you know not all jeepers are like that guy....i know theres advantages to each one...the jeep can fit into tighter spots, while the H2 has a long wheel base and is more stable in off camber situations....and id love to go wheeling with an H2, not to prove anything, but to learn, first hand how the H2 does...and i gotta respect you H2 owners that actually have the balls to take them offroad...a TON of hummer owners around here brag about them, how good they are on the trail, but they wont leave the paved roads..lol...

i have a 2006 wrangler, been true to jeeps since ive been born pretty much, was born in 85, and my dad has had a jeep since 1978, so ive grown up with them, and have had 3 in the past 2 years, along with a 98 lexus GS400 that i actually traded for the rubi i have now..lol....cant really see myself with a hummer over a jeep, but, that doesnt mean theres anything wrong with them :flag

any ways, i know i dont have a hummer, but thought i should defend us jeep drivers that dont go around to hummer forums to pick fights..lol

later and keep on wheelin! :seeya :cheers

thats what my dad has now is a 1987 YJ....and it has almost 270,000 miles, and he has never had the engine rebuilt, had it since it was brand new, b4 that had a 78 CJ-5 he got brand new....i will say hes had good luck with his YJ, but they are a good, reliable vehicle when you keep the regular mentance up on them

Seemed solid when I bought it! I wish I had good luck with mine! Does he have the 6 or the 4 in it?
