WantAYellow 07-18-2003, 06:18 PM Talked to a neighbor last weekend that has a black H2. I asked him how he likes it (great!), and he mentioned that someone in the neighborhood apparently doesn't. I guess he has been spraypainted once, and had the back window smashed. Another H2 in the neighborhood was also spray painted.
My theory- some tree-hugger who thinks H2s and their gas mileage are bringing us one step closer to the end of the world...
Pathetic, just pathetic.
Cubby 07-21-2003, 09:08 AM It's really awful when you can't feel safe even in your own neighborhood. I have talked to others about the same thing, one even had some guy (tree hugger) stand in front of him in the middle of an intersection and would not let him go, kept screaming about how bad the H2 was for the enviroment. After several green lights and many threats the guy finally moved but put his foot in front of his tire ! YUP......you guessed it, he got it ran over !
I don't understand if it is jealousy or just plain ole stupidity. But they are out there, so be very careful where you park yours.
RAXX25 07-21-2003, 09:47 AM I have had my H2 keyed, and had several BAD door dings. Seems like no matter how far away I park, some jackass always wants to park RIGHT next to me! But I guess thats what comes with driving such a nice truck, right??? :mad :D
03YellowH2 07-22-2003, 02:37 PM Guess it's cool to live in the Northeast. You pull that crap in one of the major cities in the Northeast they will simply run you over and head off to the next meeting.
Seriously, very uncool when people simply have no respect for others. We all have issues and causes but smashing someone's car is just plain wrong.
SL1200MK4 07-26-2003, 02:25 AM WUT? WTF?
What's wrong with those people? It's none of your/their business if I decide to buy an Enzo Ferrari/Hummber H1/H2, or just any other SUV. It's not like those things are illegal or something.
Sure it might not have the best gas mileage, but so wut? Look at those 10 years old public transit buses... Those cause more air pollutions.
I think they are just a bunch of losers:rolleyes: So, many things that the government is doing is facked up, and they don't seem to know about it or do anything about it. AND they try to mess other people's property just because?
Sorry to hear about that... But if you ever caught those people throw them in jail... seriously...
WantAYellow 07-29-2003, 11:33 PM Based on the Sierra Club press release today, expect more of the same unfortunately. Nothing like a bunch of hyperbole to whip the liberals into a froth.
JerrH2 11-18-2003, 07:05 PM I have people at my school (high school) that pull up the windshield wipers , open my gas cap , push in the side mirrors and leave notes ..so i got angry and so did my dad , so we got a hidden camera and caught them..but how i did was weird , they were throwing a frisby and it hit my H2 right across the hood and left a scrape , then asked them if they hit it , they siad no , showed them the tape , never messed with it since! just plain A**holes , even at publich places , taking up 2 spots in the very back and u have sum idiot that blocks you saying " you have a Hummer , you can go through the bushes" I mean wtf!
just jealous , pathetic losers
03' black H2
SMTBs 11-19-2003, 06:34 PM There was a H2 haters club on line...probably some kids that saw the sight, and thought it was cool or something. Man, that kinda crap bothers me so much.
Laker_Rob 12-01-2003, 01:57 PM OK, so the question I have is, any regrets? I am comparing the H2 to the Escalade. I know the gas milage sucks, but are you guys and gals having a hard time finding parking and parking garages tall enough? Does the vandalism thing you all discussed put a damper and make you wish you had not bought the H2?
Please reply soon as I am looking to buy within a week or so.
Thanks everyone!!!!
Laker Rob
RAXX25 12-01-2003, 02:50 PM No regrets here! My sister has an Escalade, and I would much rather have the H2 anyday! I think overall, the positives outweigh the negatives of having an H2. The parking situation usually isnt a problem, I just aim for the far end of a parking lot OR look for ramps with 7' and taller clearances.:thumbs

devilsfan 12-02-2003, 11:49 AM Zero regrets. Nothing. Nada.
It's a trade off. Sure, the Escalade's nice, but I can't tell it from a Navigator or Yukon from a distance. I bought the H2 for the styling. The only thing I get it confused with is the profile of an armored car.
You have to plan things differently with an H2, but you have to do that with almost any car. If I had gotten a 'vette, I wouldn't take it down certain potholed streets I take the H2 down at 50 MPH. You just have to make sure what you're giving up outweighs what you're getting.

FlyGirl 12-02-2003, 12:53 PM Hey Laker Rob -
Absolutely no regrets - couldn't love it more!
Paralleling takes a bit of pratice. One excellent piece of advice from my husband is trust your mirrors. Removing the spare virtually eliminates blind spots. (Wondering if you find it tough to parallel or back into spaces with your spare mounted externally, Stacy?)
Not sure how the H2 total width differs from the Escalade or Yukon - but, seriously, measure your garage doors with the mirrors folded in. I have 2 inches of clearance on each side of ours - tight but still doable.
Also, a few guys have posted that their wives/gfs couldn't or wouldn't drive the hummer... not an issue for us bold H2 girls here, but something to consider for your better half!
Just one last thing - you will be constantly gaped and screamed at, waved to, questioned, probably picked up :crazy, and sadly, envied and perhaps resented. Get an Escalade or Yukon if you want a great truck to transport you... buy an H2 if you won't mind the instant fame and want a vehicle that will become part of YOU!
Good luck with the big decision!!

Laker_Rob 12-02-2003, 01:09 PM Hey, thanks everyone! Flygirl, loved your response. Picked up, huh? Hmmm.... Actually, this car is for me and my little girl. She wants the Hummer and so do I. Each time I ask her, "the Hummer or Escalade?" She smiles and says "the Hummer!".... So there you have it! I guess it will be the Hummer. I think.... Man, what a tough decision....
Laker Rob
devilsfan 12-02-2003, 02:51 PM VERY good choice, Rob. And your little girl has awesome taste already, you're definitely raising her right! :) For maximum stare-value, definitely go for the yellow.
I have had no problems with the parking. My spare is rear mounted, and combined with a sticker that takes up the remaining view I have, let's say rear vision is very limited. The H2 has a curb assist feature with the side mirrors, tho -- when it's on, the mirrors (driver, passenger, both, or neither -- your choice) point at the ground where your rear tire meets the asphalt. You can easily match up any curb or parking line. And make people think you're just an awesome driver in the process. ;)

PaperBoy 12-02-2003, 03:55 PM Damn tree huggers:nopity
There are far worse things on the road
Laker_Rob 12-02-2003, 05:22 PM Why thank you darling, I do my best to teach her the right things in life like knowing the difference between an H2 and a Cadillac....
Laker Rob
Scott 05-16-2004, 05:05 PM I was also keyed while picking up my new son at the hospital.
